Two SGAHS Students Participate in Future Leaders of York

SGAHS students Katy Wyrick and Quinn Baker are participating in Leadership York's Future Leaders of York program. Students in the program learn to become lifelong, responsible, active participants in their hometown community, and develop leadership skills and lasting relationships with each other and community leaders.

Through interaction and problem-solving with peers and community leaders, students:

  • Learn about York County government, business, human services, and cultural arts,
  • Meet students from other York County schools,
  • Develop leadership skills,
  • Discuss issues with community leaders,
  • Perform community service projects, and more.

Katy and Quinn recently attended the Future Leader of York's Superintendent luncheon at York College which is the culmination of the program, with a focus on discussing current challenges that face school districts. Students hear from administrators about their respective career paths in education, receive advice on leadership, and engage in small group conversations.
