SGAHS Students Redesign SGE Sign
The Spring Grove Elementary sign located along Roth Church Road was recently replaced as part of a student-led STEM project at Spring Grove Area High School.
The previous sign featured an outdated logo. As a result, Mr. Richard, SGAHS Technology Education Teacher, turned the update into a real-world learning opportunity for his students. High school students Kody Burnham and Clayton Myers used a CNC router to cut and finish the new sign using materials already available in the classroom.
The STEM Department also collaborated with the Community Relations Office to ensure that the correct logo and branding elements were incorporated into the final design.
Once completed, the new sign was installed by the district’s maintenance department. By completing the work in-house and using existing materials, the project was completed at minimal cost to the district.
The updated sign now reflects the district’s current branding and provided students with valuable hands-on experience.
