SGAHS Student Wins Local Essay Competition
One of Spring Grove Area High School's students, Mallory Snyder, secured first place in the local VFW Voice of Democracy (VOD) Patriotic Audio Essay Competition. The competition, organized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), begins at the local post level and progresses through various stages, culminating in a celebration of national winners.
The VOD competition encourages high school students to express their thoughts on a patriotic theme through a recorded audio essay. Participants are required to articulate their perspectives on the theme, showcasing their critical thinking and communication skills. This year's theme is “What are the greatest attributes of our Democracy?” The essays are then submitted for evaluation at different levels, including local posts and district levels.
Mallory Snyder's exceptional entry earned her the top position at the local post and secured her third place at the district level. She will be recognized at the upcoming VFW Award Program hosted by the VFW Post 5265, Spring Grove. Congratulations, Mallory!
