SGAHS Student Achieves Top Girl Scout Award
Spring Grove Area High School senior Katelyn Wastler has earned the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout can achieve. This prestigious award recognizes girls in grades 9–12 who demonstrate exceptional leadership by identifying a community issue, developing a sustainable solution, and taking meaningful action.
Katelyn dedicated over 120 hours to a service project focused on social-emotional regulation and mental health awareness. Her project was implemented in partnership with Hannah Penn K-8 in York City and her Girl Scout Troop 80285. Through this work, she made a lasting impact on the lives of students by promoting emotional wellness and mental health support.
The Gold Award reflects Katelyn’s initiative, compassion, and drive to make a difference. We are proud to celebrate her achievement and applaud her commitment to service and leadership. Congratulations, Katelyn!
