SGAHS Girls Lacrosse Teacher Appreciation Night
Seniors on the Girls Lacrosse team expressed their sincere gratitude to the teachers who have had the greatest influence on their lives. These educators have not only guided their academic paths but have also served as mentors and companions throughout their journey.
It's truly heartwarming to see our students recognize and honor the dedication, support, and inspiration that our teachers provide every day.
A heartfelt thank you to our Girls Lacrosse team for their thoughtful display of appreciation! Teachers, your impact extends well beyond the confines of the classroom, and we are deeply grateful for all that you contribute.
Macey Baum Honors Mr. Tom Hunt, Math Teacher at Spring Grove Area High School
"I have had Mr. Hunt all four years of high school, and he is the absolute best teacher and volleyball coach ever. Mr. Hunt always goes above and beyond for every single one of his students. Thank you, for all the extra efforts you make to help me grow as a player and person, and the challenges you encourage me to face to help me become the person I am today. I will always be grateful for your support and kindness. Mr. Hunt makes a math class enjoyable and gives out all of his sweet treats. He is also always pushing me to my fullest potential. One thing I admire the most about Mr. Hunt is his ability to connect with his students and peers. Whatever he does, he takes the time to build a deeper relationship, from teacher to student or coach to player. Due to the bonds made, he helped the volleyball team achieve numerous titles and championships. His level of dedication to his students and the school is truly extraordinary.
Thank you, Mr. Hunt, for everything you have done for me. I am truly grateful to have you as a teacher!"
Callie Drew Honors Ms. Janelle Newark, ELA Teacher at Spring Grove Area High School, and Mr. Michael Snell, Assistant Principal at Spring Grove Area High School
“Mrs. Newark and I have had a bond ever since my sophomore year English class. During that class, you never failed to make it a great day. You continue to make many students smile, including me. Although I don’t have you for a class anymore, we never fail to catch up and continue to bond. If you don’t know, Mrs. Newark is a very caring person and a dog lover. One of my many favorite memories from Mrs. Newark is her love to help find lost dogs and the stories she would tell us to keep us updated. I appreciate you more than you know.
Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Newark”
“Mr. Snell, they say a first impression sticks with someone and they are not wrong. The first time we met, we had a conversation about life for fifteen minutes straight. That has stuck with me ever since. From the start, you treated me like I was an adult and you do the same for all of the other students. Anytime I see you in school, you are greeting everyone and talking to whoever you can. Earlier this year, before homecoming court announcements, my mom forgot to leave her purse in the car. During the announcements you held her pink Michael Kors bag like your life depended on it. You are very appreciated by everyone and a breath of fresh air.
Thank you, Mr. Snell!”
Emily Huber Honors Ms. Heather Fluke and Ms. Katrina Kinneer, Spanish Teachers at Spring Grove Area High School
“When asked to pick out of my teachers someone who inspires me, brings light to my high school experience, and sets a positive classroom environment, the first thought on my mind is both of you! I want to take this moment to express my deepest gratitude for the impact you have both had on my life. Your passion for teaching and your unwavering support have not only shaped my academic journey but have also left a lasting imprint on my future aspirations. The constant reassurance and positivity that you guys have brings light to my life in your classes, lacrosse, and just passing by through the halls.
Thank you both for believing in me and helping me strive to do my best!! Your guidance and mentorship through school and Future Educators Club has been a beacon of light, guiding me towards a future I am so excited to embrace.
I can’t wait to one day have a classroom environment similar to both of yours where I too can have such an enormous impact on students' lives.
Thank you again, Senora Kinneer and Senora Fluke!
Lindsey Ray Honors Ms. Heather Shaw, First Grade Teacher at Spring Grove Area Elementary School
“Mrs. Shaw was my first grade teacher and has been one of my biggest influences since then. She was obsessed with Winnie the Pooh and that was the first of many things I loved about her. She always cared for all her students wholeheartedly, including me. I have kept in touch with her throughout the years and I’m so happy I did! She was always so helpful and supportive of everything I did, even back in first grade.
Thank you, Mrs. Shaw!”
Kendall Smith Honors Ms. Angie Leese, Special Education Assistant at Spring Grove Area High School
“I chose Mrs. Leese for my teacher because she is always there for me when I need help with school work and when I need help with life problems. Mrs. Leese is the best teacher I have ever had because she is always open with me and helps me with anything. She lets me come every day to eat lunch with her and talk about anything. She is so amazing at her job, and is always on top of everything she does. I’m going to miss having her as a helper teacher and having her with me every second of my day.
Thank you, Mrs. Leese!”
Emili Stare Honors Ms. Kaylyn Ford, Business Teacher at Spring Grove Area High School
“Mrs. Ford was my Accounting and ‘College in the High School’ Business teacher during my junior and senior year. Even though I only had her for two years she instantly became the best teacher I have ever had. As you may know she has four boys who keep her on her toes and whenever she goes through tough times she always keeps her head held high, which truly amazes me. She has taught me so much in class and about life. She creates the best connection with all of her students right off the bat and it's something I will forever cherish. I will always remember the times she has let me sit and vent to her about anything on my mind. She pushes me to be my best in and out of school and to become a better person. Thank you for being an amazing person and teacher to everyone around you! You will forever be the person that I will be inspired by to work harder and be my best!
Thank you for everything, Mrs. Ford!”
Thank you to our teachers for inspiring these young minds!
