Rocket Powerlifters Shine

The Spring Grove Area High School Powerlifting Club continues to build momentum this season with standout performances at both the PA Teenage State Powerlifting Championships and a recent meet at Columbia Montoursville High School.

At the state championships, held at Parkland High School, two Rockets delivered exceptional results. Izzabella Barick earned a 2nd place finish in the Female 167 lb class (Raw, ages 13-15). LaRon Torres claimed 1st place in the Male 205 lb class (Raw, ages 16-17) and set a new school competition record with an impressive 515-pound deadlift.

The club also turned in a strong showing at Columbia Montoursville High School in what marked their third meet of the season, continuing a trend of growth and improved personal bests.

Girls Results:

• 132 lbs: Kendalie Tobar - 1st place, 225 deadlift
• 148 lbs: Lilly Yohe - 1st place deadlift (205), 1st place bench (110)

Boys Results:

• 163 lbs: Kaiden Smith-Krawczuk - 4th place deadlift (375), 3rd place bench (250)
• 198 lbs: LaRon Torres - 1st place deadlift (540), 3rd place bench (245), and best deadlift per body weight overall
• 181 lbs: Manny Almanza - 1st place deadlift (470), 2nd place bench (260)
• 148 lbs: Aidan Shaffer - 2nd place deadlift (370), 4th place bench (200)

With continued success across multiple competitions, the Rockets are showing steady progress and strong representation this season!
