Gautham Narayan Earns Spot on the U.S. National Spacemodeling Team

Spring Grove Area High School student Gautham Narayan has earned a place on the U.S. National Spacemodeling Team, becoming the first member of the Spring Grove Rocketry Team to achieve this honor.

Gautham earned his spot in the S1-Altitude category during the U.S. National Spacemodeling Team Selection Flyoffs in Muncie, Indiana. He competed against 56 junior spacemodelers from across the country in the largest and most competitive selection event in its history.

With his selection to Team USA, Gautham has qualified to represent the United States at the 25th Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) World Championships for Space Models, currently planned for August 2027 in Poland.

"I feel so proud and honored to represent Team USA in the 2027 World Championship for model rocketry in Poland," said Gautham. "I am grateful for my parents' support and hard work, and to my mentors for teaching me and helping me learn this wonderful hobby. I am very excited for this journey, and I hope to make Spring Grove Rocket proud!"
