Five SGAHS Students Selected for Two All-State Ensembles

Five Spring Grove Area High School students have earned recognition as some of the top high school musicians in Pennsylvania. This year, each of these students qualified for both the PMEA All-State Orchestra and the PMEA All-State Modern Band, a distinction achieved by only a small number of student musicians statewide.

PMEA guidelines allow students to perform in only one All-State ensemble. After receiving their dual selections, each musician has chosen the group in which they will perform.

All-State Modern Band

  • Brynn Brossman, Vocals
  • Addison Buffalow, Vocals
  • Gavin Minetola, Keyboards
  • Ella Tyson, Vocals

All-State Orchestra

  • Bryan Myers, Cello

The district extends its congratulations to these students for their impressive accomplishment. Their hard work and commitment to their craft are evident, and we extend our thanks to Mr. Dan Brenner, Ms. Abigail Kirkpatrick, and the music program for the guidance and encouragement that helped support this achievement.

The All-State Modern Band Festival will be held on Thursday, April 23, at 6:30 PM at the Sherman Theater. The PMEA All-State Orchestra Festival will take place on Saturday, April 25, at 3 PM at the Kalahari Convention Center.
