February Rocket Staff Recognition

Each month, the District recognizes staff members who exemplify the core principles of our "Learning Without Limits" philosophy and are celebrated and awarded for their outstanding contributions. In line with our tenets of solving complex problems, connecting with others, engaging in rigorous learning, and owning the learning, the peer-nominated program highlights those who consistently go above and beyond to foster innovation, teamwork, and personal development. 

February Rocket Recognition Winners

Connecting With Others:

• Jennifer Anderson, Paradise Elementary and Spring Grove Area Intermediate School Psychologist

  • "Jen consistently seeks out opportunities to connect with both staff and students. She plans engaging social skills lessons for her students, seeks to support all staff members, and is always a team player. She is the epitome of a dedicated and collaborative teammate."
     

• Pamela Shaffer, Paradise Elementary Special Education Instructional Assistant

  • "Mrs. Shaffer makes positive, trusting, and meaningful connections with students and their families to challenge and support students to achieve their full academic, social, and behavioral best! She also makes and maintains collaborative and caring connections with teachers and support staff to contribute to a culture of high expectations and collective ownership as well as a workplace that is fun and compassionate."

Engaging in Rigorous Learning:

• Kevin Stiffler, Spring Grove Area Middle School Teacher
  • "Mr. Stiffler is one of the most passionate educators I have ever had the privilege of working with. He tirelessly creates professional, engaging videos for each of his lessons, publishes materials in Schoology, and provides rigorous learning opportunities every day."
     
• Kristen Henning, K - 4 Instructional Technology Specialist
  • "Kristen is personable, helpful, and a wealth of knowledge. She always tries to make herself available and does a great job meeting the needs of all the elementary buildings."

Owning the Learning:

• Hope Gracey, Paradise Elementary Special Education Instructional Assistant
  • "Hope is constantly working toward figuring out new and engaging ways to support her students. She always seeks opportunities to help a student in challenging times and collaborate with other staff members to solve problems. Hope is a shining star in her role through any and all challenges that come her way."
     
• Steffani Stine, New Salem Elementary Teacher
  • "Steffani has always been a great team player. She always goes above and beyond with organizing her materials and is willing to share them amongst her peers. No matter what she's doing or how busy she is, she will always stop on the dime to help those around her. Her selflessness really shines through in a time of need! All these characteristics and more, not only show she's a great teacher, but an awesome person as well. "

Solving Complex Problems:

• Ann Strickland, Spring Grove Elementary Lead Cook
  • "Ann is always willing and able to support colleagues - most importantly, making sure that the work gets done. Ann pitches in to work in the summer to support our cleaning crews. Ann is a talented cook and can think on her feet to solve a problem on the fly."
     
• Craig Seelye, New Salem Elementary Principal
  • "Mr. Seelye has been great at jumping in to help as needed. He communicates when he needs to leave the building for meetings to make sure coverage in all areas is met. He has been a positive role model for all to follow."
